I like the fact that your face has character as well as beauty and this shot conveys mood and a hint of your personality too. Fantastic result from a 400D

Thanks, many people say that i have a face of lots of expressions!! I'm very sick of the 400d. I'm working hard at the moment to get myself a 5D and go travel. I have just graduated from uni, so have all the time in the world to build my portfolio further.

I envy your youth, beauty and new opportunities ... I am trying to set up properly from scratch as a photographer and like you I am wanting to travel and take pics ... watch this space and seriously keep in touch .. my advice for what it's worth is improve your lenses first rather than the camera body and feel free to email me if you want an explanation of this advice ...Good luck with everything

Ahhh but you have life experience and wisdom!! Sometimes when you are young you need to get that advice from someone! I'm definately wanting to get more lenses, i only have two at the moment. It was either spend money on my degree show or another lens. Degree show won it in the end. But will keep in touch for sure. And ur age is not old btw! My dad is 57 and my mum is 50 and they don't act like it at all!

well my new friend I strongly recommend a prime lens or 2 for portraits at a fixed focal length. If I use my smaller sensor 40D I use a 85mm with a conversion factor of x 1.6 thus it becomes approx a 135mm and lovely for the single person head and shoulders shot. A standard 50mm lens will become an 80mm on your 400D and not bad for the full body and group stuff.
I always buy second hand and I usually buy East German and Russian lenses with great optics at a fraction of the price of the L series canons or Sigmas
